Event Highlights

Tour | Rolland, Sustana’s Sustainable Recycled Paper Mill
We will visit the Rolland paper mill located in Saint-Jerome, a short drive from downtown Montréal, which has 3 state-of-the art paper machines and processes 160,000+ tons of paper a year. Rolland Paper, is bringing paper products full circle as North America’s leading manufacturer of sustainable recycled commercial paper and security paper. An undisputed environmental steward, our products are made of post-consumer recycled fiber and processed chlorine-free. Our manufacturing facility is powered by renewable energy – primarily biogas – captured from landfill waste, reducing greenhouse gas emissions. With a focus on quality, performance and innovation, Rolland Paper’s production meets the highest sustainability standards and our 100% recycled Rolland Enviro® line has the smallest environmental footprint in the North American industry and is made from Sustana Fiber Envirolife® fibers.

Tour | TC Transcontinental Recycling Plant and Packaging Plant
Discover the behind-the-scenes of plastic recycling and post-consumer resin production at TC Transcontinental Packaging’s recycling facility. The LDPE post-commercial and post-consumer resin they produce has been tested and certified by the Association of Plastics Recyclers (APR), endorsed by SCS Global Services as 100% post-consumer recycled content. Also, the facility conforms to the SCS Recycling Program Standard for efficiently processing post-consumer waste material for landfill diversion and incorporate it as post-consumer recycled content. Finally, learn how and why the company decided to integrate the recycling of plastic waste as part of their packaging production chain.
Following the visit of TC Transcontinental Packaging’s recycling facility, you will get the chance to visit one of its packaging plant. You’ll get an inside look at how the company blends art, science and technology to create the optimal packaging. You will learn more about the processes of prepress, lamination, printing and converting to bags and pouches for a variety of industries such as snacks, frozen food and beverage.

Evening Mixer | Les Enfants Terribles, sponsored by TC Transcontinental Packaging
SPC Engage event attendees will get a chance to enjoy a drinks and nibbles reception at Les Enfants Terribles, located across the street from the Fairmont at Place Ville Marie, a business campus and destination in Montreal. Located on the top floor and with incredible panoramic views of the city, the restaurant Les Enfants Terribles has reimagined Montreal’s cuisine by focusing on gastronomic restoration in a modern, urban environment.
