A Preview of SPC Advance 2018 Sessions:

Staying Ahead of Big Disruptive Change: How Food, Beauty and Personal Care are Evolving

Our opening keynote session speakers will share how their companies actions are shaping and responding to evolving industry trends, business strategies and consumer attitudes around evolving lifestyle trends; sustainability expectations, corporate pledges and commitments; preventing food and product waste; changing the way we source ingredients and their transparency; changing supply chains and retail environments; the ever growing role of packaging sourcing and recyclability; changing demographics and consumer experience.

All at Sea

‘All at sea’ is an extension of the 18th century phrase “at sea” meaning a ship that is in a state of confusion or disorder. As we grapple with the pervasive marine debris crisis, SPC Advance will dive into the topic through the perspectives of NGOs and industry players that are actively working to understand and address this problem that has gained worldwide attention.

Boosting Recycling through Messaging and Legislation: A Northeast Perspective

The need for harmonization in recovery policies and initiatives and the challenges around contamination and the ever-evolving legislation in New England will be covered in this multi-part session.

Building End Markets for Recycled Materials

The role of resin manufacturers and examples from abroad on high percentage usage of recycled content in retail packaging will be some of the topics we will touch upon around this very important subject.

Compostability Testing: the Devil is in the Detail

Become fully versed in the processes and technical requirements of compostability testing. In this session you will learn about testing standards and procedures for plastic film and coated papers, and discover the types of substrates that are subject to testing.

A Fix for Your Daily Coffee Fix

Brands, their supply chain partners and downstream recyclers present domestic and international perspectives on performance and fiber recovery of single use coffee cups in the absence of significant uptake of reusable options.

SPC Advance will be a climate neutral event

SPC has partnered with South Pole to ensure the full climate neutrality of SPC Advance. The partnership follows the recognition that there is a pressing need to reduce the carbon footprint of events caused by delegate travel as well as energy and food consumption. The climate neutrality will be ensured through SPC’s investment in South Pole’s climate protection project: Kornburi Wastewater Treatment, Thailand.
