SPC Returns to the Sustainable Packaging Summit as Strategic Content Collaborator
Sustainable Packaging Coalition(SPC), a project of GreenBlue is honored to announce its continued partnership with Packaging Europe and the Sustainable Packaging Summit.
Following GreenBlue’s recognition for “Outstanding Contribution” at the 2024 Sustainable Packaging Summit in Amsterdam, we will be returning to the Summit, this time as strategic content collaborator. With the Sustainable Packaging Summit promising to be “bigger, bolder and more connected than ever,” this was a perfect opportunity to collaborate on topics that are having a global impact.
Taking place in Utrecht at the Jaarbeurs Event & Exhibition Centre, November 10-12 2025, the Summit will explore the opportunities for collaboration and innovation, through a mixture of plenary sessions and breakouts across four stages. Amongst those sessions, the SPC has partnered to curate content focused in these key areas: Regulation, Reuse, Materiality, and Strategy. As the leading voice on sustainable packaging in North America, the SPC is uniquely positioned to provide key insights into contrasts and parallels in tackling challenges across the globe.
With the impact of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) being felt from North America to Europe, a panel moderated by Tom Pollock, Director of Strategic Partnerships, GreenBlue will discuss variations in implementation, and learnings from these different approaches. Providing insights will be Trina Matte, The Recycling Partnership; Michelle Carvell, Lorax EPI; and Valentine Fournel, CITEO.
Across all regions, the EPR wave can especially be felt as it relates to material choice, and how brand owners are altering their packaging portfolios based on new regulations. Olga Kachook, Director, SPC will lead the conversation with Rob Bauman, Fair Source Foundation and Jordan McKay, Forum for the Future on how global dynamics are changing organizations’ approach to materials, specifically plastics.
From the collaborative sessions, to the event as a whole, the spirit of harmonization across borders can be felt throughout. “The importance of rowing together in this shifting landscape is the way to achieving our collective goals, learning from one another in this pivotal moment. We have the tools. Now’s the time to put in the work,” SPC Director Olga Kachook said.
At the Sustainable Packaging Summit, you’ll find the partners and collaborators ready to get to work and accelerate real change on a global scale. As our Director of Strategic Partnerships, Tom Pollock, recently discussed with Cory Connors of the Sustainable Packaging Podcast, “We’re all attacking similar problems from different angles. By working through these global issues together, we can move faster,” he said. “For brands, retailers, and suppliers with a global reach this event offers the refreshing opportunity to absorb curated content focused on solutions across the globe while building fruitful relationships.”
