Why do you want to serve on the Executive Committee?

Many years ago, I attended one of the very first Sustainable Packaging Coalition meetings ever held. At the time, I didn’t fully grasp the impact an organization like SPC would have on the packaging industry. Today, I look at the great work SPC has done in educating its members and their broader value chains on the meaning and value of sustainable packaging, embracing the importance of collaboration to drive meaningful change, and harnessing the power of innovation to bring out the best of the packaging industry, academia, brand owners and others to do what is good and right for people and the planet. It would be an honor to serve on the Executive Committee to continue the great work that has already been done and to share my skills in moving the organization even further in its mission.

What do you think you would contribute as an Executive Committee representative?

The role of the Executive Committee is to provide perspective, expertise and strategic guidance on issues related to the SPC. Over the course of my 30 year career with Sealed Air, I’ve had the opportunity to develop and lead several global strategic initiatives which required technical expertise, a knowledge of global markets and consumer insights, and the ability to provide a strategic vision to achieve our business objectives. For the past 2 years of my career, I have focused on supporting the development of Sealed Air’s sustainability strategy, collaborating across the organization to develop and socialize our new sustainability goals, co-leading our materiality assessment, and directly engaging with customers, investors and other key stakeholders to articulate our sustainability vision. It is this wealth of experience and passion for sustainability that I hope to bring to the SPC as a member of the Executive Committee.
