Jonghun (Jay) Park is an assistant professor in The Creative School at Ryerson University, Toronto, ON, Canada. His research includes sustainable packaging design and systems, life cycle assessment, packaging distribution, mechanical analysis of packaging, and e-commerce packaging. Before joining Ryerson, Dr. Park conducted several packaging development and optimization projects at Samsung Electronics Company as a senior engineer. He also is affiliated with the Environmental Applied Science and Management program and Yeates School of Graduate Studies at Ryerson University. He is a member of the International Safe Transit Association’s Education Council and the International Association of Packaging Research Institutes. He received his PhD in wood science and forest products, with an emphasis on packaging systems and design, from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA, and a Master of Science in packaging from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, USA.
