Empowering Future Leaders: The SPC Events Scholarship Program

At SPC, we know that meaningful progress requires an approach that embraces diverse perspectives and scalable solutions. Individuals from historically marginalized groups have often had to think and work differently to achieve similar outcomes, and the Inclusion and Representation in Packaging Collaborative is dedicated to amplifying these diverse voices. Our commitment extends beyond environmental justice; we aim to enhance our industry’s ability to problem-solve across all packaging challenges—from design to recycling and beyond.

The SPC Events Scholarship Program aims to immerse college students, who identify as part of a minority group, by creating opportunities for students to attend our SPC events with over 600+ sustainable packaging professionals.

The program will provide opportunities for networking, enabling students to connect with industry professionals, thought leaders, and peers who share a commitment to sustainability. Through workshops, seminars, and networking sessions, students can engage in meaningful discussions about the pressing issues facing the industry.

Students will also be exposed to real-world applications of their studies, helping them to identify potential career paths and develop professional relationships that can lead to internships and job opportunities. Students will be able to explore how their unique skills and perspectives can contribute to the evolving challenges of the packaging sector. This program not only seeks to empower underrepresented students but also enrich the packaging community as a whole, encouraging innovation and collaboration.

This scholarship will be awarded once and will cover the cost of travel to and from the event, hotel accommodations for the event duration, the event registration, and meal per diem. Coordination of funds and travel will be coordinated by the GreenBlue staff.
