
Yoni Shiran
SYSTEMIQ
Yoni joined SYSTEMIQ to promote the circular economy, with a focus on industrial systems and break-through business models. He is leading SYSTEMIQ’s global modeling efforts of ocean plastic leakage to 2040, and scenarios to reduce leakage to near-zero in partnership with the Pew Charitable Trusts. Previously Yoni was at McKinsey, working for 4 years on a range of sustainability issues from renewable energy, to carbon economics, to the circular economy. In order to join SYSTEMIQ, Yoni moved with his wife and baby daughter from San Francisco to London. During his MBA at UC Berkeley, Yoni was awarded the Service and Leadership Award for developing a new course on sustainability topics called ‘Business Solutions for Global Mega-Trends’. In 2009, Yoni created a Youtube video on the environmental impact of paper that got nearly 200,000 views. In his spare time, he loves watching soccer games and has attended the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
