Why do you want to serve on the SPC Executive Committee?

Jenny believes that it is important to drive recycle ready packaging as well as implementing recycling programs to handle packaging. Food contaminated packaging is an issue that needs to be addressed, as well as the vast opportunities that curbside programs face today. SPC has a superior perspective over other sustainability organizations in that it is material neutral. This has been important when engaging CPG companies, such as Tyson Foods, because these companies don’t use one specific material or packaging process, but nearly all classes of materials. In addition, these companies are restricted from using several material classes (such as glass and metal) and must search for alternative material substitutions. Reducing, recycling, and reusing packaging is key to decreasing the negative impact to our environment. Her perspective as a packaging engineer at a major food producer has provided her with expansive knowledge on a variety of food packaging.
