Why do you want to serve on the SPC Executive Committee?
As a participant in the “convenience economy” I understand the need for and benefits of packaging for food and other products. It’s not realistic to think that a planet of 7.5 billion people could be sustained without it. However, as technologies evolve we must look at alternate materials that can perform the functional requirements of a package while not outliving our great, great grandchildren. Many types of plastic packaging, especially single-use, have placed a great burden on our environment and natural resources. I feel that our industry has a great responsibility and opportunity to change the future of packaging. I would like to serve so that I can help guide the SPC on topics related to flexible bio-plastics and their role in reducing packaging waste. I want to put my time and energy into supporting the companies that agree with this mission, and help to keep the industry moving in a positive direction. Thank you for your consideration!
