Amcor Rigid Plastics
Dennis Kittel – Global Sustainability Manager for Amcor Rigid Plastics, has 35 years’ experience in plastic packaging for Food applications. Recycling from a food packaging perspective is most challenging and motivating. Dennis has spent most of my 28 years with Amcor in the Research and Development of packaging requiring high oxygen, light, and moisture barrier applications.
His experience covers both flexible and rigid packaging for a wide array of applications in aseptic, retort, fresh food, and meat, dairy applications. Food packaging peaks my interest in as it is a challenge to be recyclable with multi-layer structures combining materials, with barrier performance polymers, and balance these relationships with recycle content, product shelf life, polymer processing, and food contact regulations. Working with customers to define and implement more sustainable packaging is exciting. Amcor is a leader in packaging for the beverage, food, home, personal, and healthcare markets.
Dennis holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
