2018 SPC Executive Committee Candidate

Why do you want to serve on the Executive Committee?
Over the past two years, as the representative for TC Transcontinental Packaging, I have witnessed the great work done by Greenblue and the Sustainable Packaging Coalition. I appreciate how Greenblue uses an objective science-based approach combined with industry collaboration to develop a credible vision for sustainable packaging. I would like to join the Greenblue Executive Committee because it would be a great opportunity to participate even more actively in the collective efforts towards promoting more sustainable industry practices. Additionally, this mandate would fulfill my desire for involvement in finding solutions to the global sustainability challenges we are faced with.
What do you think you would contribute as an Executive Committee representative?
I am passionate about sustainability and aim to promote great social and environmental practices in both my professional and personal networks. My expertise in responsible sourcing, corporate social responsibility and operational environments give me a holistic understanding of the different challenges faces by corporations regarding sustainability. I strongly believe that manufacturers/converters have a key role to play in sustainability and wish to promote that point of view. As a Canadian, I also think I could bring a new perspective to the table, as well as create opportunities for the organization to grow.
