Adam Shalapin is the Global Sustainability Manager at Ball Corporation, where he partners with stakeholders across Ball’s value chain to continuously enhance the sustainability credentials of the aluminum beverage can and drive long-term value creation. Adam is a system-thinking, problem solver who after spending a decade in corporate environmental and sustainability strategy, truly believes in sustainability as a business model.
Most recently, Adam has developed and is currently implementing Ball’s global renewable energy strategy, including the execution of two large wind and solar contracts in North America. In addition, he continues to focus on developing Ball’s strategy to systematically address Ball’s climate and water-related risks & opportunities.
Prior to joining Ball, Adam worked in environmental & sustainability consulting for a wide range of industries and environmental risk management at United Airlines. He holds a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Masters in Chemical Engineering with specialization in Energy, Environment, and Economics from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
