Education and Outreach
As part of the SPC's education and outreach, it holds several in-person and online meetings and educational events a year. The SPC believes it will require collaboration throughout the supply chain to affect the change needed to realize sustainable packaging. As a result, the SPC continually looks for opportunities to advance its mission through participation in and hosting of conferences and meetings.
SPC February Open Forum- Introduction to Combined Heat and Power for Industrial Settings

This presentation will educate
the audience on what Combined Heat and Power (CHP) is and how it can impact
daily operations in industrial settings like a packaging or manufacturing
plant. Additionally, the presentation will outline the drivers that make CHP
installations the most economical and other ways to “think outside of the box”
in order to bring the highest value to facilities that install a CHP on-site.
Travis Dauwalter, Business Development Leader. GE Energy, Gas Engines Division
As a business development leader for GE Gas Engines, is responsible for growing the Biogas and CHP business in North America through focused engagement with end-users, industry stakeholders, and policy makers. Travis received his MBA from Pennsylvania State University and Bachelors of Aeronautical Engineering from the US Air Force Academy.
Jenifer Aken, Enterprise Programs. GE Corporate, ecomagination team
Jenifer is a manager on the GE Enterprise Programs Team focused on engaging with customers on sustainability initiatives on a few industry verticals to include flexible packaging. Jenifer received her MBA from University of Maryland and her B.A. from Duke University in Public Policy.
